The best venue for a kids party in Bali is usually the villa you have already rented: it is private, it costs no extra venue fee, and it has a pool. A beach works best in the late afternoon; a resort works but binds you to the hotel's rules on timing, noise and suppliers.
Your own villa — the default answer
You are already paying for it, it is private, it usually has a pool and a garden, and there is no venue fee. The one thing to check before booking anything: some Bali villas ask for a named event coordinator on site, and some cap guest numbers in the rental agreement. Read that clause before you invite twenty-five children.
A pool party — the thing home cannot do
If the villa has a pool, use it. A pool birthday is the single format that a birthday in Sydney, Singapore or London physically cannot compete with. Nobody on this island sells it as one bundled product, which is exactly why we built one.
The beach — beautiful, and more work than it looks
Late afternoon only. Weighted decor, or it becomes a kite. Beach clubs each have their own rules about decor, sound and timing, and they enforce them. Plan the timeline backwards from sunset so the cake lands with the light.
Resort or garden restaurant
- Resort — good if you are staying there. You inherit their timings, their supplier rules and often their kitchen.
- Garden restaurant — the right answer if your accommodation has no space. You pay the venue for food and us for the party: two clean numbers.
